SSD Elects New Union Mission Officers Across the Southern Asia-Pacific Region

The Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) elected new union mission officers during its 2025 Year-End Meeting to strengthen leadership across its diverse territories. These appointments reflect a renewed commitment to mission-focused service and collaborative growth within the Adventist Church.

During the second day of the Annual Council of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of Seventh-day Adventists, November 10, 2025, new officers were elected to lead the various Union Missions across the territory. These appointments reaffirm the Church’s commitment to advancing the gospel through collaborative leadership and mission-focused service.

The SSD, which oversees 11 countries across the 10/40 Window, announced the new leadership teams for its Union Missions, encompassing administrative, evangelistic, and financial responsibilities. Officers for the Union Conferences will be elected during their respective constituency meetings following the SSD Annual Council.

Central Indonesia Union Mission

Elected to lead the Central Indonesia Union Mission are Rudi Situmorang, president; Mesnick Ataupah, executive secretary; and Richard Panjaitan, treasurer. This leadership team will focus on strengthening discipleship and community engagement across Indonesia’s central region.

Timor-Leste Mission

In the Timor-Leste Mission, Chris Anderson was elected as president, with Inaciu Da Kosta as executive secretary and Vic June Francisco as treasurer. Their leadership marks a continued effort to nurture new believers and establish a stronger Adventist presence in the predominantly Catholic nation.

West Indonesia Union Mission

The West Indonesia Union Mission elected Binsar Sagala as president, Ronny Wenas as executive secretary, and Roni Manurung as treasurer. The team aims to advance mission work in one of the most diverse and dynamic regions of Indonesia.

West Central Philippine Union Mission

Newly elected officers for the West Central Philippine Union Mission include Mamerto Guingguing II, president; Calev Maquirang, executive secretary; and Ronnie Maravilla, treasurer. Their leadership will continue to guide the church in strengthening evangelistic outreach and nurturing its members.

Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission

The Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission will be led by Gerardo Cajobe, president; Danilo Fiecas, executive secretary; and Josue Fofue Jr., treasurer. Their focus will be on equipping local churches and encouraging missional growth across the southern part of Luzon.

Southeastern Philippine Union Mission

Elected to serve the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission are Danielo Palomares, president; Edwin Magdadaro, executive secretary; and Laurence Lamera, treasurer. The team is set to continue strengthening spiritual leadership and mission initiatives in the region.

Southeastern Asia Union Mission

The Southeastern Asia Union Mission, which includes nations such as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, will be led by Nipitpon Pongteekatasana, president; Lim Pheng, executive secretary; and Samorn Namkote, treasurer. Their leadership will focus on expanding gospel opportunities in multi-religious contexts.

Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission

In the Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission, Daniel Malabad was elected president, with Maximino Cadalig as executive secretary and Germilyn Rabang as treasurer. Their administration will continue nurturing the growing congregations across northern Luzon.

Myanmar Union Mission

The Myanmar Union Mission leadership team includes Alvin Po Po Hla, president; Thang Lam Mung, executive secretary; and Cally Thein, treasurer. Despite political and social challenges, this team will continue advancing the mission of hope and education in Myanmar.

MUM

Malaysia Union Mission

Leading the Malaysia Union Mission are Abel Bana, president; Nelson Bendah, executive secretary; and Joshua Chee, treasurer. Their mission is to empower Adventist institutions and local churches to serve as centers of influence throughout Malaysia.

MaUM

Each newly elected officer carries the responsibility of encouraging unity, nurturing members, and advancing the Adventist Church’s mission within their respective territories. As the Southern Asia-Pacific Division enters a new phase of mission refocus, these leaders are poised to guide their fields with dedication and Christ-centered leadership.

“Integrated for Mission” remains the guiding theme for the SSD, emphasizing collaboration among departments, institutions, and members as they work together to share the everlasting gospel throughout the region.

Youth Directors’ Evangelism in Southwestern Philippines Leads to 40 Baptisms in Remote Island

Loreto and Tubajon, two towns in the island province of Dinagat in northeastern Mindanao, Philippines, experienced a spirit of revival as youth directors from the Adventist churches in the Southwestern Philippines region (SWPUC) spearheaded an evangelistic campaign from August 11–16, 2025. The united outreach, supported by youth leaders from youth leaders in the Southern Asia-Pacific region (SSD), SWPUC, and the Northeastern Mindanao regional office (NeMM), culminated in the baptism of 40 individuals who chose to follow Christ.
