Bradshaw Declares, Only Jesus Grants Eternal Life

Lauren Davis, ANNUnited StatesJul 10, 2025, 5:46 AM

Day seven of the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session opened with a devotional by John Bradshaw, president of  It Is Written, a Seventh-day Adventist ministry under the North American Division (NAD).

In a message titled, “The Mystery,” Bradshaw opened by sharing the different, but ultimately futile, ways the world’s billionaires and top companies are searching for a man-made path to immortality.

“There haven’t yet been credible signs that one is about to fend off the Grim Reaper,” Bradshaw said.

He spoke about the beliefs in various cultures and religions that seek to answer how our body will move from this life to the next — segueing to the powerful biblical truth of Jesus being the only way to eternal life.

“We will then never again know that desperate feeling you experience, knowing a loved one has passed,” said Bradshaw. “Through faith in Jesus, we can anticipate the joy of immortality.”

Morning devotionals at GC Session begin each day at 7:30 a.m. Central time inside the arena and conclude with a 25-minute prayer session for delegates.

Today’s prayer session was led by Melody Mason, coordinator of the United in Prayer program for the GC.

Bradshaw will continue to lead morning devotionals during this year’s session.
