AUP College of Medicine Achieves 100% Passing Rate, Reflecting a Decade of Mission-Driven Medical Education

The Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) College of Medicine has once again demonstrated the impact of faith-based education, achieving a 100 percent passing rate among first-time takers in the October 2025 Philippine Physician Licensure Examination. Second-time takers also performed remarkably, recording a 94.44 percent passing rate, well above the national average of 77.46 percent.

This outstanding performance coincides with the 10th anniversary of the AUP College of Medicine, marking a decade of service, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to its mission—preparing physicians who combine professional competence with Christlike compassion.

“Our greatest joy is not just in the passing rates but in witnessing how our graduates carry the values of Adventist education into their practice,” said Dr. Doris Mendoza, Dean of the College of Medicine in AUP. “They serve with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of calling to heal in the name of Christ,” she added.

Since its founding in 2015, the AUP College of Medicine has stood as a testament to the enduring value of holistic education—a principle deeply rooted in the Adventist philosophy of learning. Each student is trained not only to diagnose and treat physical ailments but also to understand the emotional and spiritual needs of their patients.

Over the years, the College has produced graduates who now serve in hospitals, mission clinics, and underserved communities throughout the Philippines and beyond. Many alumni testify that their education at AUP has shaped their view of medicine not merely as a career but as a ministry of healing, echoing Christ’s example of compassion and service.

Behind this success story are dedicated professors and mentors who see teaching as a sacred calling. Their efforts, combined with the students’ perseverance and faith, have created an environment where academic rigor meets spiritual growth.

“Adventist education molds the heart as much as it sharpens the mind,” said the Southern Asia-Pacific Division Health Director, Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso. “It’s about preparing men and women who will serve with excellence, guided by the mission of Jesus—the Great Physician.”

As the AUP College of Medicine celebrates this proud milestone, it continues to look ahead with renewed vision—to expand its reach, strengthen its service, and nurture future doctors who will carry God’s healing ministry into every corner of the world.
