Central Philippine Adventist College (CPAC) celebrated a remarkable achievement as one of its nursing graduates earned a place among the country’s highest scorers in the recent Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE). Melchiah Shimei C. Cañal secured the Top 9 national rank with a score of 92.20% rating, a milestone that brought pride to her family, mentors, and the entire CPAC community.

Cañal’s accomplishment stands as a testament to her perseverance and commitment to excellence. Her performance reflects the strong academic preparation and faith-centered formation that shape CPAC’s nursing students. Faculty and administrators recognized her success as both a personal victory and an inspiration to aspiring nurses within and beyond the campus.

CPAC President Dr. Neda June Salazar expressed deep appreciation for the collective support behind this milestone. She acknowledged parents, review partners BrainHub Review Center and Top Rank Review Center, and the School of Nursing faculty for guiding students with diligence and compassion.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support, and to BrainHub Review Center and Top Rank Review Center for helping prepare our exam takers,” Salazar said. “We also commend our School of Nursing faculty and clinical instructors for their dedication in training and mentoring our students into competent and compassionate professionals. Above all, we give glory and thanks to God, whose grace has guided each one through every challenge and victory.”

Cañal’s success accompanied another celebration for CPAC as the institution recorded a 100 percent passing rate for first-time takers and a 97.18 percent overall performance in the PNLE. CPAC also ranked ninth among the top-performing nursing schools this year—an achievement the college noted briefly as part of the broader success of its nursing program.

College administrators affirmed that the new registered nurses carry with them not only professional competence but also a commitment to mission.

“We are incredibly proud of our new registered nurses,” the administration shared. “Their achievements reflect God’s guiding hand, the dedication of their mentors, and their own determination to succeed. We pray that they continue to bring Christ-centered care to every hospital, community, and mission field they will serve.”

Cañal’s accomplishment continues to inspire students preparing for careers in health care, reminding them that excellence anchored in faith can uplift lives and honor God.
